With all the reality TV and fly on the wall documentaries we see these days, it’s no wonder that some people can’t see that real life should be different and so they continually stick their noses in other people’s business. However, you don’t have to tolerate this. You do have a right to privacy and here is how you can exercise that right.
1. Don’t do anything in which the authorities should take an interest
Okay, so this is starting with an obvious point, but if you beat a child, steal someone else’s property, mistreat and animal, etc. you really don’t deserve the right to privacy on that particular issue.
So, let’s say you live a legal, relatively blameless life. How can you p[protect your right to privacy and prevent other people interfering in your life?
2. Don’t make your private life public knowledge
Celebrities are great ones for doing this. They sell photographs to everything from weddings to childbirth to cosmetic surgery, and then they get upset when people come up to them in the supermarket for autographs. What can they expect once they have blurred the lines of acceptability so much?
Now, while unless you’re a celebrity reading this article, you are unlikely to have anyone asking for your autograph over the frozen pizzas, this advice is good for you too. If you don’t want anyone talking about your marriage problems then don’t kiss another woman in the bar, for example.
3. Be discreet
If you’re having an affair with your secretary and you don’t want word to get around, don’t flirt in the office. Remain professional and keep your personal life out of work hours and out of the office.
4. Guard your personal correspondence
Of course, people should never read your private letters but you can be sure that if you leave such items lying around then some unscrupulous person will be sure to read them. For that reason, you should keep your email password protected and never tell anyone else your password.
5. Don’t fuel suspicions with secretive behavior
This mind sound like the opposite of the advice given so far but really it isn’t. It’s just that if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn’t act like you have. You may enjoy having a slight air of mystery about you for a while but this can backfire badly. You may appear untrustworthy and you may be the subject of some nasty gossip about what your secret could be.
6. Make some pre-emptive strikes
If you are having some work done at home, a new kitchen fitted, or a new dishwasher delivered let your neighbors know, in passing. They will see the cardboard boxes arrive and if you don’t want them flapping their gums about what could be in those packages, just tell them. If it’s no big deal to you, you will have stolen all their thunder and there won’t be any point talking about it behind your back.
7. Behave appropriately in public
If you don’t want people talking about you behind your back, don’t give them any bad behaviour to talk about.
8. Learn how to deal with intrusive questioning
Without causing offence, avoid answering any questions that you don`t want to answer. Make an excuse to get out of the situation, even if it is a lie. Smile and excuse yourself, saying that you need to head off to a dental appointment or to pick up the kids.
If the other person already knows that you are having problems but you don’t want to discuss them, then smile and thank them for their concern but state simply that the situation is under control and you really don’t want to talk about it.
These methods for how to get people to mind their own business should be effective if applied calmly and consistently to the people who seem to want to interfere in your life.
Tattooing may be an art laced with piercing the epidermal layer but many of those who go for it would vouch that it is a liberating experience. It’s a way in which a person can make his deepest life impressions be expressed or his individuality be reflected through the images or symbols on his skin. Of all kinds of tattoos, tribal tattoos hold a great deal of significance.
After all, the mystique element of tattooing gets even bigger when the question of ancestral beliefs jumps into the picture. Whether it is about Indian-American ancestry or relates merely to a fictional belief associated with werewolf, tribal tattoos extract great curiosity among tattoo lovers. They hold various designs and meanings. Getting across such meanings and inert symbolism can be a work of a lifetime. Even the best tattoo artists cannot propose to have mastered the tribal tattoo art completely.
However, the champions of the medium know how a correct deciphering and impression can create a powerful visual impact. The tattoos can talk about abstract designs or symbolic ones. In the latter, a dot placed astutely can represent moon, while in still other variations, it can even represent darkness.
Abstraction, Symbols, and Customization
Just like there are abstract designs, they are time-tested symbols like butterfly tattoo, heart tattoo, armband tattoos and so on. In some places, these tattoos are augmented with a tribal flame to hold a popular effect. Such tattoos, especially when combined with an impression of dragon can turn into a pinnacle of aestheticism. Abstract designs suggesting Infinity or Shades of the Gray Tribal can be especially invigorating.
If you look towards the top artists to give a meaning or an interpretation to the tribal symbols and designs, you will be bewitched by the way they use customized tattoos to create the effect. For the purpose, they take aid from your muscle groups and utilize blood flow in your epidermal tissues. It is evidenced that blood flow to the top layer of the body is different for different people. This fact is being exploited by tribal tattoo masters to fetch the desired effect.
Meanings Differ With Races
Different tribal tattoos have held different meanings. American-Indian race used same symbols to represent something else than the Magyars. Mohicans did not apply same rules as the Incans and so on. For instance, tattoos for Aztecs implied ritual beliefs and nature. Quite differently, the Polynesians denoted conventions and religious beliefs through tattooing.
It Is No More Only Black
Black is an integral color for securing right connotations from a tribal tattoo. However, even colors are being merrily introduced today. This paradigm shift has got to do with greater commercialization of the tattoo vehicle. A stock of tools and materials has ensured that designers can make robust experiments with arches and patterns. They can assimilate the mystical virtues of a tribal tattoo and yet make it look extremely contemporary and chic.
To Conclude
Tattoos can denote puberty, wedding rings, mark of belonging to a tribe, fortune, power and even immortality. The expressions that emanate out of it largely depend upon the craft of tattoo masters of the day.
In a relationship communication is one of the most important habits that you can develop. Everyone communicates differently. You have to understand how you communicate and how your spouse communicates. This article will talk about three areas in which you need to communicate. You need to communicate your expectations, dreams, and plans.
Sometimes we are so in love. We forget to express our expectations to our potential spouse. When we become married we just expect our spouse to fulfill them. We secretly wonder why the person is not doing what we expect. Did you tell them? You need to be clear on your expectations. Voice them. Your spouse needs to hear what you really need. Your spouse actually wants to fulfill your expectations. He or she wants you to be happy. Unspoken expectations can lead to a divorce. Do not let that happen to you.
Another item you need to communicate is your dreams. Gone are the days that the woman’s dreams and desires are deferred for her spouse’s dream. Each individual has some dreams since he or she was a child. It is unfair just for the sake of being married that you have unfulfilled dreams. Yes, for your family some dreams will need to be adapted or even deferred. Whatever the case is, you need to be able to share your dreams with your partner. Your partner wants to help you fulfill your dreams. If you do not tell him or her, is it his or her fault that you have unmet desires? Unfulfilled dream is another reason for a divorce. Do not let this happen to you.
Finally you need to communicate your plans. Since marriage is a joint experience. Every plan impacts your spouse and family. No secrets allowed. Some of your plans need to be decided together. Again marriage is a joint venture. In some aspects it needs to be run like a business. There is the old cliche that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. This applies to all aspects of your life. Once secret plans are discover, it may lead to divorce. Do not let this happen to you.
One of the reasons for divorce is communication. Couples are not able to relay their expectations, dreams, and plans. If you can be open and honest with your spouse, you prevent one of the top reasons for a divorce. More importantly, you will have a healthier and hopefully happier marriage.
Musical pitch awareness comes in many degrees. From the super-in-tune bands, orchestras and choirs loaded with the most gifted musicians who can melt your soul with a simple C triad to the slightly off tune groups whose individual members may not have that bull’s-eye pitch or one player with suspect ears spoils the tune for the rest.
Then there are the millions of beginning students at the start of their musical journey. Some with a great deal of talent who just need a little hand to get their hearing fine-tuned and many others who at the outset are slightly or way off pitch but keen and patient to learn.
That very last group of music students is the one that often attempts and fails the bad-pitch hurdle, mostly because they try and do it on their own.
Here are some steps that should guide you on to the right path:
a. Do Not Attempt To Solve The Out Of Tune Problem On Your Own.
As a teacher and student of the Alexander Technique, I’m very aware of the term “false sensory perception”. It simply means that your body and senses are very good at giving incorrect messages.
The passionate walker who pushes down into his left hip with every step will not be aware of this till he is either told by a person (with the right knowledge) or finds himself (herself) in a hospital bed after a hip replacement at age 67.
The same “blindness” has the potential to darken the perception of music students who believe that they are in tune when in fact they are always sharp or flat.
If you are worried about your tuning, have a relative pitch test done by a professional (music teacher).
b. How To Get From Sharp Or Flat To Bull’s-Eye
You MUST be prepared to SING. True sense of “whole body” ear training pitch, I believe, can only be achieved through vocalizing.
Be aware of your ear test results from paragraph “a”.
Are you always flat or sharp? By how much (a third, a fifth)? Are you maybe always flat by the same distance? Are you all over the place?
Find a technique to get you from your flat or sharp note to the correct one. Slide into it, count/sing up or down to it via scale steps.
Never TRY to get the note, always allow it to come out without tension. Be prepared to be wrong.
It is OK not to hit the note right in the center at first. Like a dart board, on a scale from 1 to 10, 7, 8 or 9 is a pretty good score, especially with an untrained voice. The aim is to be on the note as best as possible.
Now that you have attained the ability to sing a given note in tune, it is time to widen your ear training pitch horizon with more diverse exercises.
c. From Bull’s-Eye To Top Shelf Musician
To my knowledge there are no ear training online programs that have solved the issues we’ve covered in points a & b in a clever and successful way (except of course the ones being taught by inspiring and patient music teachers in classrooms every where).
So, if you’re moving forward from here by yourself, there are 3 different roads you can take, depending on the kind of person you are or what level and kind of involvement you want:
A very thorough and complete ear training course like Musical Ear that gives you all the bells and whistles and gets you personally involved in a hands on way (scores & sheet music etc).
An internationally recognized training platform like Earmaster Pro 5.0 (in 18 languages) where you interact in multiple ways including singing via microphone and build your progress in your own time.
And for visual people who like to learn through games, there is the Theta Music Trainer which continues to develop imaginative new ways to train your ear with a special focus on singing.
Ear training pitch without a hitch is indeed possible for those who tick off the boxes in the right order and have the patience to aim for a seat in that soul melting C-chord band, orchestra or choir. Let’s hit those notes in the center!
Holidays are a time to spend with family and people you love. Unfortunately, while most people are gathering for family feasts, parties, and kisses under the mistle-toe, some singles will be sitting all alone at home. These are the people who have no close family, and no one to share the holiday season with. Are you going to be sitting alone this Christmas Eve? Are you looking for a special someone to bring in the New Year with? Perhaps now is the time to take another look at online dating and give it a try!
How do you do this? First, find a good quality online dating site. Check out the different websites listed on review sites where members can rate dating websites. Take a visit to each of the websites and sign up for the free trial period (usually anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks). During this time, you will be able to evaluate whether or not you think that dating service is right for you.
After you have chosen a quality dating site, create your profile. Be sure to be honest, and give details about yourself. Stay away from trite phrases, and make yourself shine. For example, instead of saying: “I am a musician,” say “I play the piano and especially enjoy playing the classics such as Bach and Beethoven in my spare time.” Your profile is your way of allowing potential dates to get to know who you are.
Add a good, crisp, clear, attractive photo of yourself. No glamour shots, just a great picture. Get candid shots–pictures of you participating in your favorite hobby, hanging out with your friends, at work. . .let them speak about you! Remember, your photographs are the first impression someone will get of you.
Then, you are ready to meet people. Most dating sites have thousands of members. New members sign up on a daily basis. You should have no shortage of interesting people to chat with–and perhaps form a relationship with. Don’t limit yourself to one person right away; get to know a few people. Try not to set too many geographical limits either. Remember, true love may be a few states away–if one of you is willing to move, distance really shouldn’t be an issue.
This year, as you set up the tree and go shopping for gifts, you will have reason not to be discouraged about your singleness. Next year may be the year that you too are happily kissing the love of your life under the mistletoe.
Ever since its introduction the Flying V electric guitar has gained numerous admirers all over the world. It’s V designed body became ideally suited to the countless guitar players who like to stand out and who also like to pose on when performing live.
This guitar has existed much longer than some people realise, though it has experienced one or two design adjustments in the process. These instruments are still produced today and are as popular now as they ever have been.
Here are 10 facts about this legendary guitar:
1. The Gibson guitar Company first commenced manufacturing prototypes of the Flying V in 1957.
2. The original guitars were made from a wood called Korina. This wood resembles mahogany although lighter in colour.
3. The official Flying V product premiered in 1958 and only 81 instruments ended up shipped that year. An extra 17 ended up shipped in 1959.
4. Whilst these initial models are really valuable and collectable nowadays, the earliest versions were priced at $247.50 with a further $75 required for the standard hardcase.
5. To put in perspective how collectable these unique models are in the present day, a 1958 or 1959 model happens to be the 5th most collectable electric guitar around and is worth in the region of $200,000 – $250,000.
6. There have been a lot of well-known users of this kind of guitar throughout the years including: Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Marc Bolan, Tom Petty and the Schenker brothers.
7. Gibson made a style and design change in 1967 when they introduced mahogany as the wood of choice for the instrument. There were also subtle modifications to the shape and also the introduction of a new scratch plate, another type of bridge and tailpiece configuration and also a different control system. The 1967 product had become the standard Flying V guitar and still is to this day.
8. Between 1979 and 1982 a V2 model was released. This instrument had completely different carvings in the body and even had two boomerang shaped single coil guitar pickups as standard. These pickups would not prove a big success and many guitar players over the years chose to replace these with humbuckers.
9. The Flying V grew to be synonymous with heavy rock as a result of its ability to fit over the guitarists knee when being played live on stage.
10. The 1967 mahogany variation of the Flying V is manufactured in much the same way as the Gibson SG model, apart from the noticeable variations in the shape.
So that’s the Flying V electric guitar. It Is not necessarily every person’s cup of tea and it undoubtedly seems to be a fairly genre specific model, having said that in 1957 this guitar was certainly a hugely ground breaking design.
You may want to check under your bed just in case you have an authentic 1958 model lying there.
If you have your own professional photography business, you will no doubt be all too aware as to just how hard it can be to find new clients and keep your diary fully booked. For many professional photographers marketing your business is a long and expensive process. But it really does not have to be as hard as you think. What you need are better strategies!
Marketing, contrary to popular belief is about a lot more than just advertising. It covers every aspect of your business that touches or impacts your clients. Marketing dictates how your client hears about you, the perception they form of your business and ultimately how much they spend with you.
Marketing therefore covers how you talk to them on the phone when they make an enquiry, your advertising materials, your pricing and your the service your provide your clients with, to name but a few.
To be successful you have to be good at finding new leads, turning them in to clients and then make them so happy that they use your again and tell all of their friends about you. Marketing is about getting as many clients as possible, getting them to spend as much as possible and about keeping them.
So don’t make the mistake of thinking marketing is just advertising, it is a lot more than that. Treat your clients well and stay in touch with them. Find new ways to please them and find new packages to offer them.
When it comes to advertising and finding new leads, many photographers rely on wedding fairs or expensive yellow pages adverts, or more and more photographers are turning to the internet as an alternative. Wedding fairs can be long days with little returns, though there are things you can do to increase the return on your time and cash investment significantly with a little imagination.
Most photography adverts look alike in the yellow pages, so if you are going to advertise there, you want to make sure your advert stands out from the crowd. As for the internet, the web is a big place! So many photographers spend a fortune on beautiful web sites, but unfortunately no one sees them as they fail to rank in the main search engines!
Life really does not have to be this hard. What you have to do is think differently. Stop searching for leads and instead find ways that will attract them to you instead, then life becomes easy.
Pop Art is “popular, transient, expendable, low-cost, mass-produced, young, witty, sexy, gimmicky, glamorous, and Big Business”, as quoted in the Art world. The term “Pop Art” was first used by the English critic Lawrence Alloway in a 1958 issue of Architectural Digest to describe those paintings that celebrate post-war consumerism, defy Abstract Expressionism, and adore materialism. Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, and Roy Lichtenstein are the leading artists that started the movement of Pop Art, which brought art back to the material realities of everyday life, to popular culture, in which ordinary people derived most of their visual pleasure from television, magazines, or comics.
Pop Art is a direct offspring of Dadaism in the way it incorporates images from the street, the supermarket, and the mass media and presents it as an art itself. Pop Art was a visual artistic movement that emerged in the mid 1950′s in England, but realized it’s fullest potential in United States in the 1960′s where it obtained the full attention of the art world. Although it was an international style, in Asia and Latin America, as well as in the Soviet Union and Western Europe, its most famous manifestations were seen in the work of American artists.
Much of Pop art came about as an act of rebelliousness against the seriousness of Abstract Expressionism. Artists realized that art is limitless in it’s possibilities, that technical effects can create extremely effective images, though Pop artists were figurative and literal, using the most easily identifiable graphic illustrations. The colours are clean and sharply defined and are brightly artificial and fluorescent and usually have a glossy hard finish. It stresses frontal presentation and flatness of unmixed colour bound by hard edges. Art pieces were close enough to reality and at the same time it was clear that they were artificial re-creations of real things.
British Pop Art referred to a group of artists called The Independent Group who began appearing on the scene around 1952. They wanted to break away from the depressing post World War II gloom. This style celebrated an American brand of materialism in a time where most of Britain was still on food rations. British Pop was a consciously vulgar style where it broke away from the past romantic style of painting that sprung up in the 1940′s. They focused on the theoretical exploration of technology, and referencing to science fiction in British Pop Art. They went against modernist art, design and architecture. They were very intrigued by American automobile design, with its emphasis on the idea that the intentional production of goods would soon require to be replaced by something new. British Pop artists had optimistic points of view. They dealt with various forms of direct action like assemblages and happenings rather than comics or advertisements. In Britain, popular culture and technology was just the subject of the popular art.
You’re 38 years old, give or take a few, you have just gone through the shock of figuring out you are a lesbian…now what? If you are in a position to meet other like-minded women and seek out a relationship, you will most certainly be thinking about dating. And you have to start somewhere–your first lesbian date.
The concept is the same as any date: two people meeting to learn more about each other in order to determine if there will be a second date. Remember this principle! You are deciding on a second date, not on a lifetime commitment. In my experience, many lesbians who do not experience instant sparks on the first date don’t ask for a second date. Don’t put that kind of pressure on yourself or your date. While attraction may be instant, most times love needs time and nurturing to grow. If you are on a date, having a nice time together and seem reasonably compatible, go on a second date. Enjoy yourself.
On the other end of the spectrum, if you do feel an instant attraction on the first date, take it slow. There is an ongoing lesbian joke involving U-Haul rentals following first dates–if you haven’t heard about that yet, you will. Most times these flash–in–the-pan attractions result in short lived and stormy affairs. Having an attraction doesn’t insure compatibility over the long haul–that just takes time. Be patient.
OK, so back to first date basics. Who asks for the date? In straight relationships, most times the guy takes the initiative. No more! It-s up to one of you to do it. My advice is to jump in. The sooner you ask, the less anxiety you will have agonizing over the anticipation. You will also develop confidence and it will be easier the next time. Make your invitation to date as personal as possible. In person or on the phone are preferable to e-mail or IM’ing.
You can either offer to pick up your date or meet up with each other. There are no rules. You may want to consider this, however. Picking up at the home will also mean dropping off at the home later, presenting the possibility of being asked in for a nightcap. This may or may not be desirable, depending on your comfort level after the date.
As in the straight world, expectations of sexual activity following a first date vary widely among lesbians. You should never do more than you are comfortable with. You should clearly state what your limits are if you are feeling pressured. Likewise, don’t pressure your date. That’s just bad manners. It is a good idea to think about your personal limits and desires ahead of time. Kissing is common and if this is your first time kissing a woman and you are nervous, that’s normal. Relax, you’ll be fine! (really fine!)
Paying for the date is the next sticky wicket. Again, no rules. If you have been the one to initiate the date, you may want to pay. Or your date may offer and insist. Or you can split the bill. The only caution here concerns obligation. If you go on additional dates and she continues to insist on paying, she may be really nice, rich and can afford it or she may be trying to set up a controlling relationship. Beware.
There is one really disconcerting thing that I had not foreseen on my first lesbian date: the trip to the rest room. When I told my date I needed the facilities, she said, “Oh, me too,” and followed me in. It was just a little strange relieving myself, knowing my date was in the next stall!
Remember, the goal of your first date is to learn more about each other, test your compatibility and decide if you want to go on a second date. Keep these points in mind and have a fabulous time! Happy hunting!
Buying a brand new car is really an investment and that means you have to be aware about the various techniques about how you will get the perfect automobile that is fuel-efficient.
You should check consumer guides, vehicle magazines and also internet sites, web site forums or ask buddies, relatives and co-workers which vehicles they recommend as fuel-efficient vehicles. Do not buy more car than you’ll need, since bigger automobiles generally have bigger engines that are less fuel-efficient. Find the most fuel-efficient car in the size group you’re interested in, whether a two-seater, compact, mid-sized, SUV or pick up truck. There are various online sites where one can compare fuel consumption ratings of a typical auto.
An alternate way to be a fuel saver, is simply by limiting the choices you choose for your own automobile. You may not have realized that many conveniences from power windows, seats as well as mirrors to air conditioning and seat warmers decrease fuel efficiency and charge you a lot more in fuel consumption. They increase either weight, increase aerodynamic drag or perhaps pull extra power coming from the engine or through the alternator. Aluminum wheels are among the couple of options that truly decrease weight and therefore raise fuel efficiency.
With regards to that old car that you will no longer use if you purchase more fuel-efficient automobile then the best move to make with it will be to contribute it to charity. You will find around five-hundred qualified non-profit organizations in the US alone – not to mention those around the globe, that will happily take your old car off your hands. If you have a preference with regards to charities, contact them and see if they’re an IRS qualified tax-free charity and donate an automobile. If it’s a certified nonprofit, they’ll pick up the vehicle free of charge to you! If you don’t have a favorite charity, then research charitable organizations that may appeal to you. Charitable groups which take vehicle donations both give them away to disadvantaged families for transportation or sell off the automobiles and make use of the cash to aid the organization.
Every single nonprofit charities can really benefit from your own kind contribution of a functioning car or truck. However, a lot of non-profit groups could make optimum use of your own donation by simply selling the non-functioning auto to a dealership, a scrap automobile parts supply corporation or even a 3rd party who’ll take responsibility for repairing the vehicle after which selling it. Charitable organizations usually accept almost all forms of transportation – such as watercraft, Motorhomes, travel trailers, passenger trucks, vans and buses to name a few – whether in running condition or otherwise!
If it’s you’re first time buying a guitar, it’s probably safe to assume you’re not that experienced in playing one. You’ll hear a lot of people say you should buy the cheapest one you can get (that won’t fall apart) until you know you’re going to stick with it – presumably to avoid you wasting your money. I’m here to tell you that this approach is all wrong and terribly misguided!
First of all, the two big differences between cheap guitars and expensive guitars are tone (the sound you get from it) and playability (how easily you can fret notes, play chords, etc.). The first of these won’t affect you much as a beginner since you probably won’t even be able to tell the difference (unless you’ve played other instruments before) but you will, however, notice how much harder it is to play a cheap guitar that isn’t designed and set up to be easily played. In fact, a lot of beginners give up completely just because they feel hopeless trying to play a second-rate instrument that even a music teacher would struggle to get nice sounds from. With this in mind, let’s see if we can figure out how to get a decent quality guitar without investing TOO much money upfront!
The first thing you need to do is figure out a realistic budget. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you spend all the money you have at your disposal (especially if it’s your first guitar) without considering the other obligations you might have. Too often, people waste more money than they can actually afford on a first instrument and wind up regretting it when they need a book for school and can’t find the money. Bottom line is: Don’t bankrupt yourself just to get the best you can buy (unless you know for sure you can afford to).
Once you have a clear budget in mind, the next step is to check out your options. I’ll discuss two ways of doing this depending on whether you’ll be buying in a store or via the Internet.
If you’re buying in a store, you’ll want to play all the models you can get for your budget – as recommended by whoever assists you in the store – and see which feels, and sounds, best to you. If, however, you can’t play yet (or are very inexperienced), you might want to ask a lot of questions – maybe even have someone in the store play them for you so you can hear what the tone is like. Music stores tend to overcharge you but they will usually give you a pretty good instrument based on what you ask for. Staff are often extremely helpful and will genuinely show you guitars that fit the tastes and requirements you tell them – though admittedly favoring the more expensive models first. On that note, remember to stay within your budget and tell them what it is up-front!
If you’re buying online, it can be both easier and harder. It’s easier in that it’s more convenient (assuming you don’t mind waiting for shipping) and allows you to browse a far wider variety in a much shorter time. You should do searches for reviews on all the models you’re considering – maybe watch some videos on YouTube – and do your homework before settling on one. Consider the price – relative to your budget -, what other users have said about it, and its aesthetic appeal when making that purchase decision. It’s important that you LIKE the guitar! There’s a big difference between wanting it because it’s a good quality instrument and actually being pleased by its color, shape, and overall appearance. It plays a much bigger role than you might think in how often you practice and how much you enjoy your practice sessions.
In summary, when buying your first guitar you need to aim for the best you can get (staying within your budget) while also making sure it’s an instrument you can “bond” with. It should be a joy – not a chore – to pick up your guitar and practice so make sure it’s a good one!

So, there you are perfectly groomed, wearing your most expensive after shave and flashing your best come hither smile. You know you’re looking good, but you’re still alone at the end of the night. You’re just not attracting the ladies. But wait, there’s worse to come. The guy at the other side of the room looks as though he’s thrown together his outfit, he’s not particularly hot looking and yet – he’s surrounded by good looking honies all vying for his attention.
If this story sounds familiar, then you most certainly are not alone. Many men – and women – just can’t seem to get a date no matter what they try. Yet there are other people having massive success with the opposite sex. So what’s going on?
First things first, attraction is not 100% reliant on the way you look, although most of us do have our
preferences of course. It’s not about status, money or success. None of these things matter, unless you have the confidence to convince people that you’re fun to be around and open to meeting new people.
Take a look at the men who seem to have the most luck with women. What do you see? You’re most likely to see someone who does very little, but has women hanging on his every word.
Wouldn’t you rather hang around with someone who is confident in themselves rather that a shy and retiring wallflower? Someone who is fun to be with and who makes you laugh and feel good about yourself?
Confidence is not to be mistaken with arrogance. Having confidence is knowing that you’re attractive to women and knowing that they will want to be in your company. It’s having the self assurance to be relaxed around them and being confident about approaching them and starting a conversation.
Yet confidence seems completely unattainable if you’re a naturally shy individual. I should know, but that’s another story! Believe me when I tell you that you can feel confident in the future, even if you’re not feeling it today. But how?
I’ve tried almost everything and the thing I want to tell you about it the one thing that made a difference to my life – subliminal messaging. If you’ve never heard of it, try doing a search on your PC and you’ll see that it’s becoming more mainstream daily.
The word subliminal literally means “below threshold”. The threshold in this instant, being the subconscious part of the brain that currently holds the negative beliefs we act upon. In order to turn things around and truly become confident, those long held and restricting beliefs that tell you what a shy and under confident individual you are, need to be replaced. And they need to be replaced with the belief that you are self assured and confident in any situation and with any person you are speaking to.
The most effective and the quickest way I have found to do this, is to listen to positive affirmations, played in such a way that they are not audible to the conscious mind, but the subconscious is hearing and
storing every one of them. I hope this doesn’t sound mystical in any way, because it’s not.
Say you are walking down the street and you hear the noise of every day traffic. You also hear a dog barking and a group of people talking. Those three things are the apparent and conscious perceptions. However, you may have subconsciously heard someone in the group say that they are going to take a vacation shortly. You were not even away that you had heard the statement, yet you find yourself checking out the holiday destinations when you reach home. That is the power of subliminal messaging and it’s something that you won’t have been aware of.
Advertising agencies have long known of its power and although they are restricted in the way they use subliminal advertising, they know just how to get the desired effect to persuade us to buy certain brands that we had not thought of using.
You can very easily use this method to increase your confidence around women. And after listening to the messages over a period of time, the positive beliefs will start to subconsciously play out in your daily everyday life. And as I said at the beginning, the benefits can be life changing.
